Hi there! I'm Margaret Cotton and I am the longest serving member of our day centre
11 years in January past 2005.
Before I retired I was a nursing auxillary at Hyde Terrace
Maternity Hospital in Leeds. I loved every minute of it.
This photograph was taken of me on the day of my retirement.
During the war I was a crane driver at Cross Gates Leeds.
My job was to lift the gun barrels and move them about the munitions factory floor.
These barrels were sent to Arsenal and eventually fitted onto tanks.
The darling of the Day Centre. Not Me! Lucy, taken about ten months old.
In a mining village Chapel Anniversary my daughter Valerie said this at three years old.
It is one of my lovely memories
I have a lovely home
with every single thing,
A mother and a father,
a front door bell to ring
A dining room, a kitchen
A bedroom and a hall,
but the baby in the cradle
is the nicest thing of all.
Baking day at Sycamore.
We all had a great time and the pizzas were great.
